

John Wesley French, known as Wes, John or Frenchy by family and friends, passed away June 4th at the age of 74. Wes sustained a severe neck injury while working near Salida in August of 2023. His loving, kind and helpful spirit is already greatly missed.
Preceded in death by parents John and Carolyn French, granddaughter Desi, and brother Alan. Survived by his daughter Michelle (Brad) Pingel and son John French; granddaughters Kayla (Darryl) McBeain, Morgan Morris, Hayley, Kinsey and Lexy Pingel; great-grandson Noah McBeain; siblings Carol (Glen) Fillmore, Linda Nelson, and Pauline McCaffrey; aunt Alison Blackburn as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Wes was blessed with the special friendship of Dorothy Archuleta who has taken in his beloved dog Lucy.
Wes graduated from Central High School, served in the US Navy, and retired from ABC Rail in Pueblo. He moved to Salida where he became in demand to dog sit, house sit, handyman repairs, yard maintenance, etc. which developed into many friendships with whom he enjoyed exploring the beauty of the area.
He may be gone from our sight but never from our hearts. A special thanks to the care teams of Memorial Hospital Central CS and Rock Canyon Rehab Center in Pueblo. Celebration of Life pending. Memorials in his name may be made to a charity of your choice.
