John J. Friend, 90, born on February 1, 1928, in Sugar City, CO to the union of Edward & Lettie Mae Friend. He went to be with the Lord on February 20, 2018. Preceded in death by his loving wife and best friend of 64 years, Mildred. He is survived by his children, James Friend, Connie Baker, Thomas Friend and Cheryl (Robert) Hudgens; grandchildren, Christopher (Michelle) Baker, Angela Friend, Jeremy (Katie) Baker, Kylie Hudgens & Kristyn Hudgens; great-grandchildren, Zachary & Noah Baker and Sofia Zarate. He is also preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren Jennifer Hudgens & Gary Baker. John enjoyed fishing, wood carving, watching his grandchildren participate in their sports, and walking his grand dogs alongside with ‘his best friend, Mildred’. John was an active members of First United Methodist Church. Cremation to follow. In lieu of food and flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sangre de Cristo Hospice.
