

John Edward Peattie was born on September 4, 1940, to James and Pearl Peattie in Cleveland, Ohio. At age 8 his father placed in Cleveland Christian Home where he spent 10 years. He enlisted in the army and spent his 4 years of service time in Germany. He then moved to Gas Hills, WY and worked for Union Carbide. He met and married Nancy Scholz and they were married for 63 years and had four children, Laurie, Kevin, Michael, and Jason.
The family moved to Casper, WY where he worked for Emerick and Hill and later owned his own business. He felt called to the pastoral ministry and moved the family to Broomfield, CO to attend Baptist Bible College. He finished college and got his degree from San Diego Bible College.
John was called to be the pastor at Holbrook Baptist Church in Swink, CO and after serving there for a few years started Prairie Bible Chapel in LaJunta, CO. He also pastored at Boone Baptist Church and later at Liberty Baptist Church in Pueblo, CO. During the time he was serving as pastor, he also worked full time for John Deere and Pueblo Community Health Center.
John is preceded in death by his parents, James and Pearl Peattie, his sisters Betty, Margaret, Kathy, Nancy and brothers Robert, Donald, and twin brother James. Survived by sister Evelyn. Also survived by wife, Nancy and adult children, Laurie Hopple, Kevin (SaRah) Peattie, Michael (Nicole) Peattie, and Jason Peattie. John and Nancy have fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
John was loved by all.
