October 30, 2019

John and I grew up together & were friends from Kindergarden. We lived in the same neighborhood. The Schoby's lived in the 2300 block of Pine and our family lived in the 2300 block of Evans. We attended Lake View Elementary, Corwin Jr. High and graduated in 1959 from Central High School. I can remember us learning how to read in first grade from the Dick, Jane, Spot and Puff books. We lost contact with each other after graduation, but I always liked John and have fond memories of our younger years. Those of us that attended Lake View Elementary and lived in the Minnequa Heights were a "one of a kind" kind of like "the salt of the earth". Our parents were hard working people and they instilled values in us that we carried all of our lives. We have said good by to many of our Lake View friends this past year and John is included in that list of friends for many of us. Please accept my most heart felt condolences and know that John is remembered by many and those memories are all good and positive. He is at peace rejoined with his wife and his parents.
With sympathy to all - may your memories comfort you today and always.
Please know that John's obituary was a tribute to a life well lived.
