Jonathan Andrew Sowell

Jonathan Andrew Sowell, age 45, passed away on August 12, 2026. He was born on September 5, 1980, and will be remembered for his outgoing personality, love of family, hardworking spirit, and the joy he brought to those around him.

Jonathan attended Pueblo County and Rye High School and earned his GED in 1999. Throughout his life, he took pride in his work and enjoyed being part of a team. He worked at Three Sisters Tavern, where he became a familiar and valued presence among his coworkers and friends. He was known for his willingness to work hard and for the relationships he built along the way.

Jonathan had a love for Magic the Gathering, and the outdoors. He enjoyed living life with a little bit of a wild side and was always ready for an adventure. His beloved dog, Daisy, a black Lab/hound mix, held a special place in his heart and was a treasured companion.

Those who knew Jonathan will remember him as a happy and social person who was never a stranger for long. He loved spending time with his family and, above all, loved his mama. He had a way of making connections with people and leaving an impression wherever he went.

Jonathan was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Sowell; his grandparents, the Sowell and Marshall families; and his uncle, Craig.

He is survived by his mother Susan Sowell; his sister, Val Sowell; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, coworkers, and friends; his beloved dog, Daisy; and Max his boss and friend at Three Sisters Tavern, along with the many coworkers and friends who became like family to him.

Jonathan’s life was filled with laughter, work, family, friendship, and adventure. Though his time with us was far too short, the memories he created and the people he touched will carry his spirit forward. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Celebration of Life

A gathering to celebrate Jonathan’s life will be held on Saturday, August 22, from 3:00–7:00 p.m. at Three Sisters Tavern. Family, friends, coworkers, and all who knew Jonathan are welcome to come together, share memories, and celebrate the life of a man who was loved by many.
