Jose A. Gonzales

Jose A. Gonzales, 98, passed away on January 10, 2019. He was a proud WWII Veteran. Preceded in death by loving wife of 69 years, Mary A. Gonzales; parents, Julian and Ramona Gonzales; sons and daughter-in-law, Leroy (Virginia) Gonzales and David Gonzales; niece, Patricia Lucero; and numerous siblings. Survived by children, Carol (John) Ortiz, Christine Valerio, Joseph Gonzales, and Debra Ortiz; 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 1 great, great grandchild on the way; and countless other loved ones. Jose retired from CF&I. Up until his passing Jose and his son, Joseph stood side by side with friend Ron DeLong, helping him on his cattle ranch. Jose enjoyed spending time with his family and telling them all his life stories in which he remembered every detail. His other hobbies include reading, playing practical jokes, hunting, gardening, riding horses and just anything to do with the outdoors. He stayed healthy by eating green chili twice a day.
