Judy was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who brought energy, laughter, and resilience into every room she entered. Known for her stubborn streak and her fun-loving nature, Judy lived life fully and fiercely, never missing an opportunity to dance, laugh, or speak her mind.
She is survived by her three daughters, Sherry Lynn Martinez, Kimberly Mae Hathaway, and Randee Marie Butler; her six grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Jackson, Candice Veronica Navara, Brandon Steven Martinez, Chance Skyler Chase, Lillianna Faith Marie Cardwell, and Landin Carter Chase; and her five great-grandchildren, Rosa Castaneda, David Castaneda, Edwin Jr. Castaneda, and Alli Castaneda, children of Elizabeth; and Kayce Cardwell, son of Lillianna.
Judy spent many years as a waitress and co-owned a family business, where her work ethic and charm touched countless lives. Outside of work, she was active in her community through bowling and softball leagues and was always the first to hit the dance floor. Whether cheering from the stands or tossing a ball herself, Judy loved being part of a team and bringing people together.
Her faith was a quiet, constant presence in her life, and one of her favorite passages, “Footprints in the Sand,” reflects the strength and comfort she found in her relationship with the Lord:
“The times when you have seen only one set of footprints is when I carried you.”
Judy’s life was a patchwork of laughter, strength, and compassion. Though her physical presence is gone, her spirit continues to carry us through the days ahead.
A memorial service to honor Judy’s life will be announced at a later date.
