

June Yang, age 95, passed away on December 27, 2025, in Pueblo, Colorado; born on March 2, 1930, in Shandong, China, June was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, and aunt whose life was exemplified by resilience and service.
June’s journey from China began in Taipei, Taiwan, where she earned her B.S. in Nursing in 1953 from the National Defense Medical College. She served as the Head Nurse at the First Army General Hospital and later as a public health instructor before her adventurous spirit led her to seek new horizons. In 1960, she immigrated to Canada to practice nursing in Quebec; June then traveled to the US to study food and nutrition at Drexel University in Philadelphia, and it was there she met her future husband James (Jim) Yang and the two married.
June earned a Master of Science from Drexel University in 1967. She spent the following decades working as a dedicated Therapeutic Dietitian at such places as the University of Pennsylvania Hospital and St. Joseph Hospital East in Memphis. Throughout her career, she was supported by her husband Jim, an international banker; he preceded her in death on June 9, 2015.
Beyond her professional achievements, June was a world traveler who remained physically active her entire life, finding joy and peace in her love of walking. She is survived by her younger sister in Dezhou, China. While she had no children of her own, June’s legacy of care, support, and friendship left an indelible mark on all the lives she touched.
