Kellie Elizabeth O’Brien, 59, of Pueblo passed away peacefully on November 6, 2017 surrounded by her family. Kellie is preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Joanna Rollins, in-laws James F. and Mary M. O’Brien, and nephew Steven Phillips. Kellie is survived by Joe, her loving husband of 31 years; daughters Lindsay (Nate) Schwalm and Mallory O’Brien; grandson Garrett; granddaughter Adelyn; her pugs Sophie and Brady; several nieces and nephews; siblings Lori (Bernie) King of Bridgton, ME, Cynthia (Charles) Phillips of Bridgton ME, Susan (Bruce) Tripp of Bethlehem PA, Debbie (Anthony) Graffam of Manaqua, Nicaragua, Kenny (Linda) Rollins of Bridgton, ME, and Matt Rollins of Pueblo. Kellie was born on August 11, 1958 in Bridgton, ME and graduated from Lake Region High School in Naples in 1976 and a graduate of the University of Southern Maine. Kellie and Joe moved to Pueblo in 1995 and she was immediately involved in the community being a volunteer at Morton Elementary as a teacher’s aide, PTA and instrumental in building a new playground and athletic field at Morton. She was on the YMCA Board for several years, several committees at the Pueblo County Club, and an Advisory Board member at the BBB. In 2004, Kellie and Joe with Lawrence and Julie Anaya started Mobile Record Shredders, a local document destruction company. She was the president of the company. Kellie’s main focus was her family raising her two beautiful daughters and being “YoYo” to her grandson “Hantz” and little Addy. She loved taking them shopping with her or just spending time with them. Kellie gave much of her time to all her various “friends”. She had birthday friends, shopping friends, pool friends, golf friends, Zumba friends, walking friends…so many friends. She always had a big smile for everyone and a way of making you welcome and always willing to help anyone. She was taken from us way too early, but we know she went to be with her mom and dad in Heaven. In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations may be made in Kellie’s honor to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Pueblo. A Celebration of Life service will be held this Saturday, November 11, at 10:00am in the George McCarthy Historical Chapel with a luncheon to follow at the Pueblo Country Club from 12pm-3pm.
