

Kenneth Lee Hefty, 86, of Pueblo Colorado passed away June 2, 2021 at Sangre de Cristo hospice in Pueblo. He was born at his parents Homestead home South of Otis, Colorado on April 29, 1935 to Richard and Mary (Arrants) Hefty. He was the oldest of six children. He joined the US Navy in 1950 and served in Korea and Japan, receiving several metals and ribbons. He was out of the Navy for 10 years and decided to return to service. His brother Richard joined Ken in the US Navy Seabees and spent two years in Vietnam. Ken stayed in the Seabees and retired in June 1989. He received numerous awards and metals. He was a member of Masonic Lodge and VFW. He was preceded in death by his wife Katy Hefty, daughter Shelly (David) King, brother-in-laws William Stice, Doyle D Jackson, and Larry Bryant; niece Linda Marie Hefty. He is survived by his daughter Melinda Hill of Waco, TX, son Neal Hefty of Greeley, his extended family is Gary (Erica) Johnson, Rick (Karen) Johnson, Joe (Sandy) Johnson, and many grandchildren; siblings Betty (Duane) Jackson, Philip (Sue) Hefty, Richard Hefty, Becky Stice of Thorton, Colorado, Robert and (Sharon) Hefty and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Friday, June 11, 10 AM at Imperial Memorial Gardens Veteran’s Court of Honor with military honors and masonic rights.
