Laura Louise Childress, beloved partner, mother, daughter, family member, and friend, passed away on June 1, 2026, at the age of 43. Born on April 10, 1983, Laura lived a life filled with love, creativity, adventure, and unwavering devotion to the people she cared about most.
Laura called Pueblo, Colorado, home and built a life that was as vibrant and unique as she was. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcome, valued, and loved. Whether through her laughter, her kindness, or her willingness to help others, Laura left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Laura was a woman of many talents and passions. She had a deep love for drag racing and Camaros, finding excitement in the roar of an engine and the thrill of the track. She also possessed a creative spirit that shined through her photography, modeling, cake decorating, and countless craft projects. She could turn ordinary moments into beautiful memories and had a gift for creating things that brought joy to others.
Above all else, Laura treasured her family. She shared a loving and devoted relationship with Jason Ludwig for more than sixteen and a half years. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Their bond was one of friendship, partnership, and unwavering commitment. Through life’s challenges and celebrations, they stood side by side, creating a home filled with warmth and love.
One of Laura’s greatest joys and proudest accomplishments was being a mother to her son, Dakota Ludwig. She loved him with all her heart and took immense pride in watching him grow. Her love, guidance, encouragement, and devotion will remain a part of Dakota forever. The family they created together was the center of Laura’s world and the source of her greatest happiness.
Laura is survived by her devoted husband, Jason Ludwig, and her beloved son, Dakota Ludwig, her siblings, Terry, Tracy, Amanda and Lynn, along with many extended family members, friends, and loved ones whose lives were enriched by her presence.
She was preceded in death by her father, Delbert Childress, and her mother, Margaret Childress.
Laura’s life was defined not by the number of years she lived, but by the countless lives she touched. She had a beautiful way of making people smile, offering comfort when it was needed most, and bringing people together through her kindness and generosity. Her sense of humor, caring heart, and genuine spirit made her someone people naturally gravitated toward.
Those who knew Laura will remember her for her strength, her creativity, her adventurous nature, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. She leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories, lasting friendships, and a family who will carry her love with them every day.
Though words cannot fully express the sorrow of losing her, they also cannot fully capture the tremendous impact she had on those around her. Laura was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. Her memory will live on in every photograph that captures a smile, every race that stirs excitement, every creative project that inspires joy, and every moment shared with family and friends who continue to hold her close in their hearts.
As we remember Laura, we celebrate a life filled with love, passion, creativity, and devotion. While her time with us was far too short, the love she gave and the memories she created will endure forever.
May she rest in peace, forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.
