

Lewis Franklin DeAngelo, 92, of Pueblo CO, passed away July 15, 2025 at his home. Lewis was born on October 12, 1932 in Florence CO. He graduated from Central High School and attended Pueblo Junior College and Western State College in Gunnison CO. He played baseball at Western and graduated with a BA in woodworking and education.
November 1,1954 Lewis enlisted in the army for 2 years and was stationed in Germany. Shortly after arriving back home he met and eventually married Marguerite (Peggy) Lamoreaux and had 3 children.
Lew began working at the Alpha Beta meat packing plant in Pueblo and eventually began his teaching career at Heaton Middle School in 1959. After teaching at Heaton for 11 years he transferred to Roncalli Middle School and retired from teaching in 1989. Mr D. taught Woodshop and World of Construction. Along with teaching Lew also built additions, fireplaces, furniture, etc. Lew was very active and loved to play hockey and softball. During the winters they would spend time in AZ where he played tennis, pickleball and golf.
In 1989 Lew received the Colorado Distinguished Teachers Award for School District 60. Mr D. influenced many students’ lives.
Lewis was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy, parents Dominic and Grace DeAngelo, brother Don DeAngelo, sisters Dolores Bradley and Madeline DeAngelo. He is survived by his children; daughter Audrey Soldano and husband Frank Soldano from Arizona; his son Adam DeAngelo and wife Melissa (Arriaga) DeAngelo; his daughter Andrea DeAngelo, grandchildren Corianne Soldano, Frank D. Soldano, Baylee Decker, Domenic DeAngelo, Anna Decker, Nicholas DeAngelo and his great granddaughter Layla Soldano.
Funeral Services will be Thursday July 24, 2025 at 2 pm at Christ the King Parish at 1708 Horseshoe Dr. Pueblo CO 81001.
