She had recently made a big move from California, where she’s always known to be home, to Colorado to be with her son Brian and his children.
A lot may know my mom as just a wife and homemaker but to us she was more.
She was picking up and shuffling boys to hockey, she was the one always fixing things and tinkering, she always kept her house clean and tried to make our birthdays special. She was a safe space. She was accepting to most people and welcomed you to her family. She was a “I’ll call you back, the Beatles are on” or “Well I don’t know how to work this stupid thing.”
One of my favorite sayings is her always telling me and our girls “Oh Happy Day” rather it be school or just another day.
Our mom always thought.. Oh, that doesn’t look to bad, I might try it. Just like when she got a chance to visit Brian in Hawaii and took Lacie, as a baby, to water. Everything was fine and dandy until the water swept her off her feet, she fell back as she held Lacie up as Brian ran and grabbed her and mom as the current started to pull. She jumped up and asked about the baby as Lacie just laughed. Mom quickly laughed and said well it looks like we’ll play in the sand today.
Mom, I know you can hear us and please know we are all ok knowing you’re not feeling any pain or discomfort.
We know how much you loved us all. Tell everyone Hello for us.
We Love You
Forever Missed
