

Lois Louise Babcock was born on January 1, 1940, to George Menken and Mildred Loomis (Menken) in Butler county Iowa. Lois was raised on a farm by her parents with her older brother Galen Menken. In 1960, Lois married Everett (Jim) Daniel Babcock of New Hampton, Iowa. Lois was working as a beautician in New Hampton at the time of their meeting. In 1961, she gave birth to their first child, Kelly Rae Babcock on October 13, 1961. Their Second child, Rodney James Babcock, was born on April 26, 1965.Lois stayed home as a housewife and mother until Rod began school.
Lois was preceded in death by George Menken, Mildred May Menken, Caroline Poppe-Ellis (Menken), Everett A. Babcock, Mary M. Babcock, Mathew Dennis (grandchild), Thomas Babcock, Edna Mae Adams (Babcock), Steve (Boob) Adams, Robert (Bob) Adams, and the beloved Peaches. Peaches was Lois's pride and joy. She is survived by her husband, Everett Babcock; children, Kelly Babcock, Rodney Babcock and daughter in-law Vicki Babcock; grandchildren, James Dennis, Angie Tito,Jennifer (Dennis) Owen, and Drew Owen.; Great grandchildren, Lily Owen, Abigail Owen and little James Dennis.
Over her lifetime, Lois worked for Collins radio, later bought by Rockwell International, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She worked on projects such as the radio for the first space shuttle. After moving to Lafayette, Colorado in 1981, Lois worked for Technetics and Ball Aerospace. She worked on classified and non-classified projects for the government. One such project was the Hubble Telescope.
Lois was larger than life, she never knew a stranger.Lois left an impression in everyone's life whom she met, to know Lois was to love her. She enjoyed music, dancing, her time on the computer with her many friends, going to craft fairs and spending quality time with her family.
