Louella B Mercer

She had an associate's degree in accounting.

She owned Lou's Kitchen in Hutchinson, Kansas in the 1970s. She held a variety of jobs over her lifetime but none that brought her as much satisfaction as her many volunteer opportunities with homeless teens, hospice, AIDS, LGBTQ, and emigrants. She excelled in everything domestic. She was an excellent cook and baker. Successful seamstress, weaver, and quilter.

Member of First Congregational Church in Pueblo.

Charter member of Pueblo PFLAG.

Author of two books and featured in a chapter of a third book about losing a spouse.

Founder of the annual High Tea fundraiser at the First Congregational Church UCC.

Special awards: JC Penney Golden Rule Award, 2000, and Pueblo County Sheriff's Office Citizen of the Year, 2019.

Son Earl (Sam) Seeger, husband to Allen Almodovar of Dallas, Texas

Daughter Ila Sue Seeger, wife to Tim Jordan, of Pueblo, Colorado

Son Bret Mercer, husband to Samantha Mercer, of Pueblo, Colorado

Step-daughter Jackie Chacanaca, wife to Jim Chacanaca, of Pueblo, Colorado

Step-daughter Marjorie Bowar wife of Gordon Bowar, of Denver, Colorado

Step-son Keith Mercer, of Pueblo, Colorado

Sister Donna Bartholomew, of Hutchinson, Kansas

Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by:

Father Rueben Bartholomew and mother Christine Haas.

Brother Delbert Jake Bartholomew.

Sisters Josephine Flora, Mary Shea, and Dorothy Anderson.

Husband Kenneth Mercer.
