Louella R. Salazar

Louella Marie Rodriguez Salazar, 71, born August 4, 1954. She passed peacefully, Sunday evening, July 5, 2026, after a valiant two-year battle with pancreatic cancer, with her devoted husband of 31 years, Jack, at her side. They were accompanied by their dear and faithful cousins Gary and Sylvia Salazar of Denver, Colorado. Supported through this journey were her brother, Sonny (Alfred) and wife Deborah Rodriguez of Pueblo, her nephews Jason and Jared Rodriguez, (Jennifer), her beloved Godson, Landon Rodriguez, great nephew Logan Rodriguez, her dear friend Geri Romero-Roybal and husband Tony of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Louella is survived by six loving nephews, Daniel, David, Jason, Jared, James and Ryan. She is also survived by her Aunt Ellen (Manuel) San Luis, cousins Toby Jaquez Pueblo, Ted Jr Jaquez (Pam) and Christian Jaquez.

Louella is preceded in death by her parents, Casilda and Don Rodriguez and her grandparents, Alfredo and Julia Jaquez, her Uncle Ted Jaquez (Lorraine), and numerous aunts and uncles.

Louella was devoted to her faith. This showed itself not only in her practice, but in her daily living and in her actions. She cared for her ailing mother until her dying day. She believed her faith would be her sure cure for the dreaded disease and never relented. Until the end, she believed in a miracle and her unwavering optimism inspired even those who struggled to believe.

Louella graduated from Centennial High School in 1972. She then devoted her life to her career, which she began with the City of Pueblo, where she worked for ten years, before embarking on a distinguished forty-year career with Pueblo County as an Office Manager. She retired in 2023. After retirement, she spent her time living life to the fullest, travelling, going to The Colorado State Fair, and county fairs throughout Colorado.

She loved travelling and had a remarkable gift for convincing family and friends to pack their bags. She would plan the trip, inspire everyone's enthusiasm, and before you knew it, you were off on another adventure together.

She loved music! You would find her at concerts, festivals and events where there was music and dancing. She stayed active and was in great shape and loved dancing the night away.

She was a meticulous decorator and kept their home and garden pristine at all times. She took great pride in everything she did and made sure you were always welcomed with warmth, generosity, and genuine hospitality.

It is with profound sadness that we say farewell to our beloved Louella. Her kindness, unwavering faith, joyful spirit, and love for family and friends will remain in our hearts forever. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
