

Louis Berardi celebrated his 90th birthday on July 29, 2015; and on August 4, 2015, he entered in the arms of his beloved Lord and Savior. He passed away at the Life Center Nursing Home in Pueblo. He was born on July 29, 1925, in Sopris, Colorado, to Carlo & Angela (Conti) Berardi. Shortly after his birth, his family moved to Morley, Colorado, where he attended grade school and graduated from Trinidad High School. He served his country in the Navy during World War II. He married Shirlee Ann Koncilia in 1972 in Raton, New Mexico. He was employed for several years at the Morley CF&I Supply Store as a butcher. When the Morley camp closed in the 1950’s, he went to work at the CF&I Steel Mill in Pueblo, where he worked for over forty years prior to his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John; sisters, Lucy Carnevale and Mary Tamburelli; in-laws, Emer & Frank Koncilia; plus numerous nieces and nephews. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Shirlee; nephews, Carl Carnevale (Trinidad), Frank (Betty) Tamburelli (Pueblo), Carl (Rose Marie) Tamburelli (Denver), and John Berardi (Colorado Springs); nieces, Barbara (Bill) Barbee (Colorado Springs), Emma Carnevale (Trinidad), Gayle (Tom) Berardi (Pueblo); and several great nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly, as he made them all feel so special. He loved baseball, fishing, hunting, and his dogs Lucky, Teddy and Smoky. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the charity of the giver’s choice. Viewing will be 9-10 a.m., Wednesday, August 12, 2015, followed by the Funeral Service at 10 a.m; both to be held at T.G. McCarthy Funeral Home. Burial later at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
