VIDICK, Louis E., age 86, loving Husband, precious Father, Brother, Brother-in-Law, Grandfather, Uncle and friend went home to eternity with the Lord, on November 30, 2011, after a long bout with dementia and passing with his family by his side. Louis is predeceased by his loving wife, Ann, of 60 years. He is survived by his sons, Alan (Patti) Loveland, CO; Anthony (Bonnie) Gillette, WY; daughters Angela (Westminster CO) and Anita (Centennial, CO); sister, Kathryn Abbate (Pueblo); sister-in-laws, Rose Krall (Pueblo) and Josephine Porreco (CA); as well as several wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren. Louie was born in Pueblo, CO, served in the United States Naval Service during World War II, was an active member of Preseren Glee Club, and had a long career at CF&I Steel Mill where he retired. Louie then dedicated his time to polka dancing, gardening, woodworking, fishing and spending time with his wife, family and grandchildren. We will be eternally grateful for his strong, unconditional love and care of his family, his great humor, relentless strength and resilience, and he will be deeply missed. The family wishes to express its heartfelt gratitude for Louis’ caregivers, Carol Roman (Denver), and the Hospice of St. John’s nurses and CNAs (Denver) who provided excellent care and love during his last days. A memorial service will be held at George McCarthy’s Chapel, on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 3p.m. Relatives and friends will be received afterwards at a reception in the Chapel hall. Louis will be buried at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver on Friday, December 9th, at 1:00 p.m.
