To all the Benfattis: I am very sorry for your loss. Ever since my parents and I moved into the two houses adjacent to Tony's house, Mrs. Benfatti was absolutely wonderful to both my parents and to me. Even though she was a little bit older she always had an incredible amount of energy, and a kind word for me and my family. There were a number of occasions when she cooked one of her undeniably famous meals or treats for us; in particular I remember that she was aware that my dad had fallen and broken his hip bone. She brought over a huge meal of homemade pasta and meatballs and sauce and bread, which displayed her true kindness and caring for others. It was a real "pick me up" for my family. I know that my parents certainly felt that she was a wonderful woman.

I know that you all devoted a huge amount of time and kindness to taking care of her during her recent illness, and having gone through that with my parents a few years ago, I know it is something that you will always feel grateful you were able to provide for her.

You certainly have my condolences for your loss. Brian Dougherty. October 20, 2011.
