Nettie’s life was anchored in devotion to home and family. She cherished being able to be a stay-at-home mom during her children’s early years. She brought that same diligence and pride to her work in the hospitality industry, where she earned multiple excellence service awards.
Above all, Nettie embraced the roles that mattered most to her: wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She found joy in the simple, lasting pleasures of togetherness—camping trips, ATV riding, drag racing, family time, BBQ’s, card games, traveling, Denver football games, and her soap operas.
Nettie will be remembered for her loving and caring heart, her kindness, and stubbornness. She was especially known for the dishes that brought everyone to the table: her signature ribbon jello, macaroni salad, homemade spaghetti sauce, spicy potato soup, and cheesy hashbrown casserole—we Muellers like to eat.
Nettie was preceded in death by her mother and father, Albert and Lois Swanson; numerous aunts; father-in-law, Alvin Mueller; brother-in-law, David Mueller; and long-time friend, Deb Jaynes.
Nettie is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Terry; sister, Linda (Al) Ackerman; mother-in-law, Patricia Mueller; children, Stacie (Doug), Andrew (Lisa), Matthew (Amanda); 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and long time friends, the Jaynes and Ward families and their extended family.
“Never underestimate the power of the Muellers—Stubborn as Mules.”
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Family will send details.
