Lynn Earl Gay, age 79, of Lake George, Colorado passed away on Wednesday November 14, 2018 at his winter home of 13 years in Florence, AZ with his wife and sons by his side. Lynn was born April 1, 1939 to Leo Irvin Gay and Lois Emily Pound Gay.
Lynn attended West High School in Denver, where he took All-City and went to State in wrestling. He was awarded a wrestling scholarship to Adams State College where he competed, then went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Psychology.
He married Kathryn Myers and they had two sons, Dan and Dale. He enjoyed spending time
with them, especially following them in their sporting events and other activities.
His first occupation was teaching at Holly, Hugo and Lamar Community College where he also enjoyed being a wrestling coach. He then bought a general store in Lake George which soon became a family project. He later owned C/S Angler Fly Fishing store in Colorado Springs.
Sportsmen’s Paradise Fishing Club was a wonderful community to retire in, given his love of
fishing and rock hunting.
His older brothers, Leon and Larry preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife,
Kathryn; sons, Dan (Kathryn Graziano) and Dale (Kathy Wallace); his three grandchildren,
Nick, Emily and Ryan; his beloved niece, LeAnn Long Johnson; as well as an uncle and many
other nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to their church, or Project Healing Waters (a wounded warriors fishing day at Sportsmen's Paradise that Lynn enjoyed).
