Marcelina Vega

Marcelina Vega, age 91, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 74 years, Manuel Vega, her parents, Concepcion and Julia Lucero, her siblings, Caroline Ayala, Kenny Soto, Alice Rebeterano, Alfredo Lucero and Chila Lucero, as well as her children, Eleanor Lopez, Juanita Garcia, Tom Vega and Lawrence Vega and her grandson, Tommy Vega. Mrs. Vega is survived by her children, Dave Vega, Frank Vega, Manuel (Pat) Vega and Cyndi Vega, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Vega enjoyed crafting and received numerous awards for crocheting, needlepoint and quilting from the Colorado State Fair. She was also an avid gardener and had an impressive flower garden at her home, where she spent much of her time. However, she was happiest in the presence of her adoring family and was the epitome of a matriarch.

A rosary mass followed by a funeral service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 9:15 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1145 South Aspen Road, Pueblo Colorado to be followed by a reception at St. Joseph Hall.
