Marcella C. Villalon, 72, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus on August 25, 2018. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, mother and friend who spent her life helping others in need. She was born to Solomon and Edilia Villalon on January 26, 1946, in Toltec, Colorado, a quaint mining camp outside Walsenburg. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Joseph and Julio; infant sister, Corelia Villalon; and sisters-in-law, Esther and Nancy. She is survived by her son, Ricardo Alvarez; grandson, Donovan Maes; siblings, Julia (Martinez), Solomon, Elmer and Robert Villalon; brother-in-law, Pete; sister-in-law, Sharon; and numerous nieces and nephews; and beloved friend, Adeline. She worked for the Colorado State Hospital for nearly 18 years and then the Department of Corrections for over 20 years as a social worker. She earned her Master's Degree from Arizona State University and Bachelor's Degree from University of Southern Colorado. She loved spending time with her grandson, Donovan, and dog, Suki. Funeral of Christian Burial and Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Cathedral at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 31, 2018. A Rosary will precede the Mass at 9:30 a.m. Inurnment will be held at noon Friday at the St. Mary's Northside Cemetery in Walsenburg. In lieu of flowers, please donate in her name to YWCA of Pueblo.
