Marlene Chavez

With great sadness, Rose Marlene Chavez, 75, passed away on December 21, 2023, surrounded by beloved family. She is preceded in death by her parents Theodore & Margaret Abeyta, and granddaughter Aliya Lucero.

Marlene worked for JC Penny for 20+ years where she eventually retired. She was a proud member of “Broncos Country,” having had season tickets for over 40 years! She was known to all her family & friends as a proud wife, dedicated grandmother, loyal friend, and the foundation of her entire family. She will forever be missed.

She is survived by her loving husband Kevin Chavez and her sweet puppy Fancy; former spouse, Henry Alire; children, Rich Lucero (Polly), & Holly Lopez (Jason Solis); grandchildren Jayce, Gabriel, Jaylee, and Ricky; siblings, Debbie Tafoya (Dale), Jim Abeyta (Yvonne), Karla Greeley (Mark), and mother-in-law Violet Chavez; nieces & nephews, Dave Rodriguez, Tracy Selph (Andy), Brandon Abeyta, Gabrielle Abeyta, Dylan Greeley, and Shelby Sanchez (Bryson) and countless great-nieces, nephews, friends, and acquaintances.

A funeral mass for Rose Marlene will be held Friday, January 5, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St Joseph Catholic Church, 1145 S Aspen Rd, Pueblo, CO. Following the funeral mass will be an interment following service at Imperial Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5450 Highway 78 West, Pueblo, Colorado 81005.
