Martha was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank R. Gonzalez; parents Fred and Lula Mehan; siblings Lou Chavez, Edna Sanchez, Joseph Mehan, Josephine Sandoval, Hope Diaz and Manuel Mehan.
Martha worked as a nurse for many years where her patients called her an angel because of the loving care she gave them. She later retired from St. Mary-Corwin Hospital in 1997. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joys in her life and the center of her universe. She enjoyed gambling in Cripple Creek, rooting for her Broncos and the Rockies, but she was the happiest when she was spending time with her family. She was a living example of strength, perseverance, determination, generosity and love- inspiring all who loved her. She was one classy lady!
She is survived by her daughters Sandra (Richard) Espinoza, Jessica (Dennis) Charlifue and Bobbi Jo Carlisle; and sister Genevieve Elizondo. Martha is also survived by seven grandchildren, Tracy Williams, Rob (Tiffany) Bundy, Roxanne (Mona) Borrego, Frank Borrego, Rick (Megan) Espinoza, Kevin Bundy and Jillian Charlifue; eleven great grandchildren Kayla Borrego, Brooke Hoffman, Jeremiah Bundy, Chase Williams, Reece Bundy, Lexi Williams, Ian Espinoza, Payton Bundy, Emilee Espinoza, Beau Tafoya and Addison Espinoza.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10am on Thursday, June 21, 2018 in the Imperial Funeral Home Chapel.
