Mary "Madeline" Butler, 84, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026. Born on May 9, 1942, to Virginia and Joseph Pollock, Madeline shared 63 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Arthur "Jim" Butler.
A dedicated educator for 32 years, she spent most of her career as a kindergarten teacher at South Park Elementary. Madeline was a devoted Catholic and a faithful member of the Shrine of Saint Therese for more than 60 years. She also enjoyed fellowship through the Red Hat Society and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Madeline loved traveling the world with Jim, spending time at their mountain cabin, and making cherished annual family ski trips to Keystone.
She is survived by her son, Jim (Brenda) Butler; granddaughters, Alaura (Travis) Hobbs and Christina Butler; and daughter Annie Butler Shumac, and many family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Rosary will be at 9:30 AM followed by Mass at 10 AM, Friday, July 31, 2026, at Shrine of St. Therese Catholic Church. 300 Goodnight Ave. Pueblo, CO 81004.
Burial will follow at Imperial Memorial Gardens.
