Mary Jean Godinez was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be remembered for her kind and generous heart, her sense of humor, her faith, and the unconditional love she had for her family.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Godinez; her parents, Mary and Joseph Barola; her brother, Michael Barola; and other beloved family members who now welcome her home.
Mary is survived by her partner, Vincent Salamon; her sons, Chris Abney (Diane) and Erik Barola (Pamela); her sister, Martha Nutkowicz (Juan); her nieces, Kerrie Nutkowicz, Christine “Tina” Humbert (Allan), and Lisa Sullivan (Scott); her grandchildren, Joseph Barola, Angelika Ibarra (Derion), Gabrielle Barola, Miranda Abney, Kayla Robles (Jesse), and Matthew Abney; and her great-grandchild, August Robles.
Her family finds comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain and is now at peace in the loving arms of the Lord. Mary will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026. A viewing will begin at 8:00 a.m. at Imperial Gardens, followed by the Rosary at 9:00 a.m.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Meadows, 23 Starling Dr., Pueblo, CO 81005.
Following Mass, Mary will be laid to rest at Imperial Gardens. A Celebration of Life reception will follow the burial at Our Lady of the Meadows Event Hall, located in the basement of the church.
In honor of Mary and her wishes, we ask everyone to wear bright colors and florals as we celebrate her life. Mary loved beautiful, vibrant colors, and we know she would want the day to be filled with color, love, and joy in her memory.
