God Blessed the earth with The Beautiful Mary Rose on May 4, 1934. She peacefully took her last breath on May 31, 2026, at 92 years old.
Mary Rose was born in Llano Quemado of Taos, NM to Alfredo V. and Celina Romero along with 4 brothers and 6 sisters.
Family was priority, and later she wed and had 8 children of her own.
Family, circumstance, and life, prepared her for the impactful woman she became.
Mary Rose was a woman of strength, compassion, love, wisdom, feistiness, determination and most of all she was a faithful, devoted woman of God.
Her love of life, family, friends and anyone within her sight was greeted with genuine kindness and treated as family. She was a social butterfly connected to the energy of love, life and laughs. And her contagious laugh will never be forgotten.
She is preceded in death by her children Leroy Tafoya, Jasper Montez, and Steve Rains; as well as numerous other loved ones
She is survived by her children, Alfred Tafoya, Joe F. Tafoya (Jean), Dave Tafoya, MaryAnn Barajas, and Charlene Acosta. Mary Rose has 31 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.
Her legacy she leaves behind will be one of family, bringing people together, always praising the Lord, singing in good times and bad, appreciating everything she had and moving forward no matter the circumstances.
Her children were the joy in her life and for her final birthday she was at her happiest to share it with her children.

A viewing will take place at 9 AM, Thursday, June 11, 2026. Followed by service at 10 AM. Both held at Praise Assembly of God, 2000 Troy Ave, Pueblo, CO 81001.
