Preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Carl J. Valentish, who passed away in 1996.
Mom lived a long, meaningful and strong life. Her deep religious beliefs fed her the strength to endure the many challenges that defined her. She lost her father at an early age; and her brother, Joe, died soon after in World War II. Her husband later died of cancer at age 75. She always bounced back with grace and dignity and never failed to put her family first. Mom’s motto was pray, and have faith, and all will work out.
The second chapter of mom’s life was enriched by her special companion Don Perko, who perpetuated love, happiness and meaning in the following years. Further thanks to Don’s daughter, Marty, for all of her kindness and friendship.
Survived by Her daughter, Karla (Larry) Crocombe; son, Chuck Valentish (Dorothy Radakovich); grandchildren, Morgan Valentish and Rory Valentish; and numerous relatives, friends and our Bosley the Doberman.
Additional precedents; parents, Joe and Mary Stepan; stepfather, Anton Tezak; brothers, Ray (Wilma) Stepan and Joe Stepan; uncle, Father Daniel Gnidica; aunt, Sister Leocadia; brothers-in-law, Joe Valentich and Frank (Glee) Valentich; sister-in-law, Rose (Mike) Danna.
The family also would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Matthew T. Sumpter (deceased) and Pueblo Cardiology, whose extraordinary care and compassion gave mom several extra years to share with her friends and loved ones.
