Mary Virginia Walker, 69, went to be with the Lord on December 14, 2013 with her family by her side. She will be missed more than she could ever know. Born in Faribault, Minnesota Mary became a nurse after high school and moved to Boulder, Colorado. While there, she met her husband, John and they raised their family. John and Mary moved to Pueblo nearly 10 years ago to be closer to their grandchildren. Mary is remembered as a strong woman and devoted wife who gave selflessly and loved fully. She worked tirelessly to provide a stable, loving and nurturing home for her family. Mary was very proud of her daughters and was quoted saying “that being a parent was my life’s greatest accomplishment.” Her grandchildren were her greatest source of joy. She was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Mary Trcka; sister, Helen Shiprett and brother, Joseph Trcka. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, John Walker; daughters, Lynne (Randy) Evetts and Cheryl Walker; grandchildren, Aiden and Emily Evetts; brother Donald (Shirley) Trcka; sister-in-law, Janet Trcka; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. The family would like to thank Sharmar Memory Unit staff and Frontier Hospice for all their care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Frontier Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association. Services will be Friday, December 20: Viewing 12:30 pm, Rosary 1:30 pm, Funeral Mass 2:00 pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment at Imperial Memorial Gardens.
