

Maxine Watta went to be with the lord on April 17, 2017. She is survived by her papa Albino Romero whom she loved dearly; son Lucas Watta; two grandchildren Luke and Artie Rael; and one great grandchild, Baby Luke; her other half Adao Carter; Aunt Jennie Jaramillo; multiple cousins, plus many friends who loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by her mother Priscilla Romero; and two brothers Albino Jr. and Michael Romero. Maxine grew up in Pueblo, Co. She was a graduate of South High School and was active in the local music scene with her husband Ernie Watta. She extended her professional career to Hollywood and signed with MCI Records, Rocshire. She performed and did session work with The BusBoys, Brian McKnight, Gordon Lightfoot, Sly Stone, Stevie Wonder, Rick James, and Norman Whitfield just to name a few. Maxine was larger than life in all she did, down to earth, loved everyone, was a master of voice, music, art, design, yet she never forgot her roots. Always looking at the bright side of life, she lit up the room with her contagious smile and enthusiasm for life. She saw the best in everyone, forever the motivator and peace maker, radiating her light and love to anyone who was lucky enough to share part of her effervescent energy.
