Meril Leon Roberts, 92, passed away on June 29, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Clara Roberts; four brothers; three sisters; and one grandson. Meril and his beloved wife, Glenda,
were married for 68½ years. Together they raised five sons: David (Cyndi), Larry (Donell), Stephen (Trish), Michael, and Timothy. They have 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Meril was born in Binger, Oklahoma, and grew up on farms in that area. After graduating from Cement High School, he joined the Air Force. He served four years as an aircraft engine mechanic in Bermuda and California. He graduated from East Central State College in Ada, Oklahoma, and was hired to teach mathematics at South High School in Pueblo, Colorado, for two years. He then returned to Oklahoma to work as a rancher and teacher for
six years. He returned to Colorado to teach at Pueblo County High School. Meril taught for 30 years and served as Head of the Math Department for several years before retiring in 1998. During his time at County High, he earned his master’s degree from Adams State College. He enjoyed riding in rodeo parades, hunting, fishing for trout in Colorado and salmon and halibut in Alaska. He loved traveling, and after retiring, he and Glenda traveled in all 50 states. Meril was a deacon at Lynn Gardens Baptist Church for 30 years. He volunteered with Campers on Missions and the Colorado Disaster Relief Program. A visitation will take place at Imperial Funeral Home on July 7 from 5-7 PM. A Celebration of Meril’s life will be held at Lynn Gardens Church on July 8 at 10 AM.
