I am sorry for your loss. While you don't know me Mike and I went to high school together and enlisted in the Marine Corps together on the buddy plan. I hadn't seen Mike since 1969 when I got home from Nam. I often wondered what had become of him and I am glad to know that he had a full and happy life. God bless you. Another Marine to guard the streets of heaven. Semper Fi.

Ode to a Missouri Boy,
In the bible Michael is described as a prince who stands for the children of God. In Hebrew the name Michael means “who is like God”. In this way Michael is seen as a symbol of humility before God.
And that is how I witnessed my brother-in-law. He was humble, kind and never one to judge anyone who came up to him. He was a mentor to many both young and old and in his quite way, you knew he was listening and in response you would get an honest opinion.
Mike would give you anything he owed; if you liked it…it was yours. My numerous younger cousins can attest to that by the volumes of baseball cards Mike would hand out from his own personal collection. Mike made friends wherever he went and would strike up a conversation with anyone sitting next to him and before you knew it, a new friend was at the house for a beer, barbeque and music.
Michael was no saint, as I imagine his sheepish grin, but he came close to living his life in honor of his namesake. I could not imagine a better uncle, brother, friend.
I take comfort in knowing that energy is never destroyed and Michael's energy is all around us reminding us in our hearts to be kind, generous, and loving to one another.

I reckon I got to light out for the Territory ahead of the rest, because Aunt Sally she's going to adopt me and sivilize me, and I can't stand it. I been there before.
