Muriel Jean McCown, 94, born March 24, 1926, in Columbia, SC, passed gently "back to where she came from" on New Year's morning in the loving warmth and comfort of her older son's home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean, in 1988. She is survived by sons Robert (Peggy) and Michael (Vicki), four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Her life was full of the joy of learning, teaching, travelling, and sharing. She was generous beyond compare and an inspiration to all who knew her. Her accomplishments are too numerous to list. She loved her dogs as she loved family. She will live in the hearts of all she knew and touched.
