

Natalie Marie (Valenti) Fognani, 53, passed away Dec. 9, 2011. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Rosalie Valenti, and her mother-in-law, Julia Mae Fognani. Survived by her husband of 20 years, Foggia “Fog” Fognani; brother, Tony (Sondra) Valenti, Golden, CO; sister, Carolyn (Mark) Lowrey, Pueblo; nephews, Nino Valenti, Golden, CO; Christopher Valenti, Centennial, CO; and Adam (Amy) Lowrey, Los Angeles, CA; and niece, Autumn Lowrey, Juneau, AK. She is also survived by her great-nieces, Isabella and Sofia Valenti, Golden, CO and Lucy Lowrey, Los Angeles, CA; and by her faithful companions, Spencer and Nattie. Natalie graduated from South High School in 1976 and the University of Southern Colorado (now CSU-Pueblo) in 1980. She worked for the state of Colorado for 27 years in various capacities. She also volunteered for the Sertoma Sunrisers. Natalie will always be remembered for the song she wrote, “How Was I to Know?,” performed by Lucas Hoge. The family sends special thanks to her Sangre de Cristo Hospice caregivers, Rebecca, Betty, Samantha, and Maria. Thanks to all her friends for their continued love and support during her battle with ALS. Rosary Recitation 6 pm Wed. at PCC Ballroom, 900 West Orman Avenue and Funeral Mass 2pm Thursday at St. Joseph Church, 1145 S Aspen Road. In lieu of food, donations may be made to the ALS (Lou Gehrig’s) Association or Sangre de Cristo Hospice through the funeral home.
