She attended CalPoly University in California, and worked as a Student Teacher until she suffered a blood clot to the brainstem which left her totally paralyzed and on ventilator. Phoebe could communicate by looking up for "yes", and spelled her words that way. She was always a kind, lovely, witty, creative person.
Phoebe was preceded in death by her father (1973), her maternal grandfather William Strahan, paternal grandparents Chuck and Beatrice Smith, and her very close and beloved Aunt Gail Smith Peterson.
She is survived by her mother Priscilla Smith. Other survivors are her maternal grandmother Grace King Strahan, many aunts, uncles, cousins plus numerous relatives and friends. They include Aunt Kathy Strom, Uncle Joel Strahan, Aunt Janet Haley, Uncle Paul Strahan, Uncle Will Strahan, Uncle Jonathan Strahan, cousins Jessica Ferguson, Todd Haley, Luke Strahan, Sarah Ross, Ben Strahan, Steven Strahan, Sam Strahan, Ian Strahan, Jolie Strahan, Samantha Strahan, Cody Peterson, Cade Peterson, and their families, along with special people Angie Ficker, Michael Thompson, John Kreuser, as well as her three cats - Lucy Bronte, Abbie Gail & Pinkie Toupee.
The memorial and graveside will be held at a yet undetermined date. Phoebe will be buried near her dear Grandpa William Strahan. Their ashes will be placed in the family plot at Hickory Cemetery in Wadsworth, Illinois in a dual ceremony. (William passed away just before COVID). We will announce next year. Thank you all for your love and concern.
