Richard Alan Pike, “Fuzzy,” age 72, unexpectedly went to be with the Lord on June 26, 2025. He was born in Pueblo, Colorado, on November 26, 1952. Richard was cherished by his family and many friends. His love of life and the joy he brought to our lives will never be forgotten and his passing has left a void in our hearts. He is survived and missed by his brother, Ron, sisters-in-law Karen Pike and Rose Pike, nephews/nieces Justin (Shanna) Pike, Ryan Pike (Kelsey Wisinski), Rod (Rita) Pike, Turene (Gene) Lombard, Laurene Pike (Kurt Metzger), Donnie Pike, and Kirk Pike, cousins Shelley (Greg) Ratliff, Keith (Sherolyn) Watkins, Steve (Vicky) Watkins, and Sherie Watkins, as well as numerous other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents Lisle and Hildred Pike, and brothers, Gene and Jerry Pike.
Richard graduated from Centennial High School in 1971, and as a loyal Bulldog, he served as a member and vice-president of the Centennial Foundation and Hall of Fame Committee for many years. He was inducted to the CHS Athletic Hall of Fame (football/wrestling) in 2005. Richard has been a member of the Greater Pueblo Sports Association (GPSA) since 2010. He graduated from Southern Colorado State College (CSU-Pueblo). He retired from the Division of Youth Corrections, Pueblo Youth Services Center, in December, 2008, after 20-plus years of service.
After retirement Richard enjoyed substitute teaching and working security during the Colorado State Fair. He was an avid Denver Broncos fan, and he enjoyed sports, camping, fishing, and pheasant/elk hunting. For many winters he migrated to Park Center RV Resort in Port Isabel, Texas, (South Padre Islands), where he made countless friends from all over the county, and he was looking forward to returning this year.
As we bid Richard farewell—we should take solace in knowing that as a result of his strong faith in Jesus Christ—he is in the presence of God, departed relatives, and friends.
Arrangements are being made through Imperial Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Services are pending and planned for August 2025. Please check back to see updates on time and location of formal services.
