OBITUARY

Richard "Rich" Anthony Torres

October 29, 1981July 6, 2018

Richard (Rich) Anthony Torres was born on October 29, 1981 and joined God on July 6, 2018. He was surrounded by family as he fought a terrible battle. He is preceded in death by his Grammy, Katherine Rodriguez; Auntie Carol Jean Escobedo; and grandparents, Sylvia and Adolph Torres. Rich leaves to cherish his memory his mama, Corrine (Doug) Wilson; sissy and brother, Jenn and Sean Maher; Godparents, Auntie and Uncle, Nadine and Gene Mares; girlfriend, Kyleigh Graston; niece and nephew, Micaela “Roo” and Brendan “Bumble” Maher; step-brother and sister, Elijah and Savannah Wilson; Auntie Michelle Escobedo; Uncle Johnny Escobedo; special “cuzzos”, Mattie (Matthew) and Mase (Mason) Mares, Vince Escobedo, Kris and Marc Escobedo; brothers in friendship, Tim and Ben Trujillo, Victor Segovia, John Fillmore, Karl Sanders the Entourage and a host of family and friends. Rich was born in Pueblo, CO and graduated from Central High School. He enjoyed playing sports; baseball being his favorite, playing music and playing video games. Anyone who knew Rich believed that “Mario” had to be related as he loved Nintendo everything. Rich had a contagious spirit and was a friend to all who met him. He was generous to a fault and placed no value on the material world. Rich lived hard and danced to his own drum thus made no apologies for the beautiful soul he was. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at UC Health-Memorial Hospital North, for their compassionate care.

Rich was an all around great guy that brought out the best in people. He was a genuine soul with a strong spirit. Although him and I lost touch over the years the memories I was blessed to have with him will always be special. Rich’s passing was hard to take, I feel it’s his way to remind us to always speak about the best qualities in people and reach out to those that have made our journey in life special and not forget the little things (like Mario). My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Corrine, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My heart breaks with you. You are the best mama & he knows you loved him deeply. He was 1 of the finest Wildcats to walk the halls of Central High. I pray God comfort you as you navigate through this dark tunnel. He will be with you. I promise. I love you my friend

I send my deepest condolences to your family during this time of grief. I remember the quiet shy gentleman from middle school until high school years . What a young man of very few words and the quiet smile. May the Lord bless you through this hardship and be with you in the days to come. You have earned a very special angel in Heaven. May God Bless your family. “JennHogg”

I am so saddened and shocked by the loss of "My Rrrrrrichie!!!!!" He was such a great young man, one who always remained in my heart, having been his teacher at Central High. This whole family is very special to me, as we go back many, many wonderful years. This is such a sad loss for all of you and us whose lives were touched so deeply by Rich. He made a very good and positive difference in this world, rest assured of that, and he will be greatly missed. My heart, my prayers and my love go out to Corrine, Jen and the entire family. Please know that you are all very precious and we share your grief and heartache. I have been blessed to have known this outstanding young man...and I will cherish that blessing for years to come. He brought me smiles and joy, and sincere respect, every day as his teacher and every time we saw each other after his graduation. I had no idea he would be gone so soon. God bless and rest in peace, sweet, sweet soul.

My love and most sincere sympathy to all,
Lois AKA "Miss C" at Central High

Dear Corinne,

My daughter Taneisha told me about Rich, we are both so heart broke to hear about your loss. You were always so pleasant when I worked at Central when our kiddos were in high school together. Rich will always be remembered as a kind-hearted, generous, handsome person, which is a tribute to you.

In friendship and prayers,
