

Richard “Boogie” Zabukovic Sr., 75, died peacefully at the Joni Fair Hospice House on September 13, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lucille (Radosta); son Richard Jr. (Patricia); daughter Deborah (Herb) Brady; grandchildren Seth, Collin and Gabriella; sister Lillian (Frank) Russ; sisters-in-law Audrey Zabukovic and Lorraine Zabukovic; numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends. Richard was a long time member of KSKJ St. Joseph Lodge # 7 and was Lodge Person of the Year in 2008. He was also a member of Preseren Glee Club, Pueblo Elks Lodge #90 and Aeries Eagles Lodge #145. Boogie was an avid bowler, participating in 26 National Bowling Tournaments, he was inducted in the Pueblo Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 2006. Richard was an excellent mechanic, retiring from School District #60 Transportation Department. He loved working on his friend’s and family’s cars and participating in car shows. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Rose; brothers Louis, Raymond (Molly), Walter and William; sister Evelyn (Joe) Yengich. The family would like to thank Dr. Sipalay and LuLu, Dr Harberts, Dr. Albright, the staff at Liberty Dialysis Center, Dr Twellman and the staff at Joni Fair Hospice House.
