Robert “Bob” James Baker, born to the union of Albert and Mary Baker on November 30, 1934 and passed away February 18, 2013. He was a lifetime resident of Westcliffe, Colorado and born into a family of five brothers and one sister who were raised in Custer County. Bob was one of the last descendants of the Baker family who were among the first settlers of the Wet Mountain Valley. Bob meet his wife Lola at a dance in Pueblo, CO and they were married on June 10, 1960. Bob was the Sheriff in Westcliffe for many years and was an avid hunter and fisher. He was very fond of horses. Survived by his children, Brad Baker of Caldwell, TX, Keith Baker of Westcliffe, CO and Kimberly (Neil) Miller of Edinburgh, Scotland; granddaughter, Amy Baker of Caldwell, TX and sister, Elizabeth Ozmanski of Pueblo, CO. He is preceded in death by wife, Lola (2004). Private Graveside inurnment will take place on Saturday in Westcliffe for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers notes of favorite memories may be mailed to P.O. Box 34, Westcliffe, CO 81252.
