husband of Creta Trevithick. They shared 72 years of marriage together.
Bob was born in Pueblo to James and Grace Trevithick. His parents and ten brothers and
sisters predeceased him. He graduated from Central High School in 1949, received a
Boettcher Scholarship and attended Colorado College. He graduated in 1951. Bob went on to
be a math teacher and activities director in Pueblo School District 60 for 30 years before
retiring.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Bob played football and tennis throughout high school, his senior
year winning a state championship at both singles and doubles. He led the Central Wildcats
football team to a state championship the same year. During his teaching career he coached
tennis and other sports in both junior high and high school. He also directed the Pueblo Parks
and Recreation Department summer Tennis program for many years. As a charter member of
the GPSA (Greater Pueblo Sports Association,) he was actively involved as both a member and
officer for over 30 years. He was inducted into the GPSA Hall of Fame in 1979.
He was a member of Son Rise Methodist Church, and was instrumental in the building of the
church in Pueblo West. He also served as an usher for many years. In addition, he also
delivered Meals on Wheels for SRDA.
Bob will be remembered for his years of service to church and community, his wonderful sense
of humor, and his love for his family. There was never a time he wasn’t ready to help anyone in
need. Bob, Dad, Grandpa —you will always be in our hearts.
He is survived by his spouse, Creta Trevithick, children Karen (Dave) Alexander, Lori (Dan) Lohrmeyer; grandchildren Matthew (Halie) Alexander, Sarah (Johnny) Alexander, Ashley (Tim) Lohrmeyer, Seth (Ashley) Alexander; great grandchildren Westan Guerra Alexander, Clark Alexander, Lily Alexander, Scarlett Alexander; and numerous nieces and nephews. His grandson Kris Lohrmeyer preceded him in death. A memorial service will be held on September 15 at 1:00 pm at Son Rise United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Sangre de Cristo Community Care, or an organization of your choice in his name.
