Roger Hernandez, a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, cherished brother and uncle, and proud man of God, passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 17, 2025, in Pueblo West, CO at the age of 64. Roger was born in Trinidad, CO, to Joe Hernandez and Lucinda Gonzales.
Roger's life was defined by his faith, family and helping others. As a United States Marine, he carried that discipline and honor throughout his life. But above all, he was a man of God, whose strength and deep devotion to family guided his every step. He lived his life to the fullest by taking every opportunity to travel and visit family and friends. He always enjoyed a good plate of food and if it was really good he would say “There’s a party going on in my mouth.” He always had a positive uplifting outlook on life and those who knew him, knew they would always get a good laugh around him. At every chance he had he would be outdoors soaking up God’s great creation. No doubt about it he was the hardest working man and did everything he could to provide for his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Angela, and their five daughters: Tina (John), Regina (Norman), Alyssa (Colten), Rachel, and Emily (Michael). His grandkids Randi, Shelbi, Aliah, Maci, Jonny, Tyli, Paisley, Mason and Maevry. His siblings Stella (Ed), Kathy (Jody), Julian, Joann (Joe), Leo and all his nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. His in-laws Fernie and Joann, Brenda (Steve), Joe (Laura), Jim (Theresa), and Rhonda (Jon).
Roger is preceded in death by both his parents Joe and Lucinda, brothers Johnny, Joey, Tony, Jody, sisters Patricia and Cecilia and nephew Anthony (Toro).
Roger's love for his family was unwavering. He was their rock, their protector, and their greatest supporter. His wisdom, humor, and kindness touched not only his children but everyone privileged to know him. He led with a bold faith, always pointing those around him towards a relationship with God. As Roger would say, “If God says you’re great, you can’t question that.”
Though he has gone home to be with the Lord, the impact of his life remains etched in the hearts of those he loved and served. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the lives he shaped, and the love he gave so freely.
Roger, you will be forever missed, and never forgotten.
