Rose Marie Simpson

Rose Marie Simpson lived a life rooted in faith, family, and love. Born on May 12, 1951, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Rose graduated from Centennial High School and spent her life caring for the people she loved most. She was a homemaker and worked on the assembly line at Trane, but her greatest calling was being a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Rose’s faith was the foundation of her life. It gave her courage, comfort, and strength through every season, especially after the passing of her husband, Duane, 42 years ago. Her faith carried her forward and shaped the way she loved others—with patience, resilience, kindness, and enduring hope.

She filled her days with the things that brought her happiness: crocheting, quilting, baking, softball, and Colorado Rockies baseball. A talented softball player, Rose was especially proud of winning a state championship, and she never tired of sharing the stories. Her family will remember the delicious apple and pumpkin pies she made, her beloved Christmas cookies, her bright red fingernails, and the smile that made everyone feel welcome.

Rose was a woman of remarkable strength. She faced life’s challenges with quiet determination and continued to give her family love, encouragement, and unwavering support. Her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured, the faith she embodied, and the countless memories she created.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Edna Book; her husband, Duane Carter Simpson; and her brother, Ron Book.

She leaves behind her sons, Curtis Simpson (Kenna) and Michael Simpson (Jamie); her brothers, Dean Book (Kat) and Bill Book (Sylvia); her sister-in-law, Cheri Book; and her grandchildren, Carter Simpson (ShaneaRae), Colton Simpson, and Braden Simpson.

A service celebrating Rose’s life will be held at King of Kings Lutheran Church in Pueblo, Colorado on September 23, 2026 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
