

Rudy was born in Mt home, Idaho on May 3, 1943. He was the son of Rudolph and Esther (Armenta) Gonzales. He graduated from Pueblo East High school. Rudy served in the United States Army for 6 years as a marksman and an aircraft part inventory clerk. He went on to work for CF & I Steel Mill for 43 years. During his time at the steel mill, Rudy worked did multiple jobs, but retired from steel making. Rudy was a member of the United Steel Workers 2102, the American Legion Post #2, and VFW. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, renovating houses, yard work, trips to Cripple Creek, Wheel of Fortune, and spending time with the love of his life, family, and friends. He will be remembered for his personality, humor, willingness to help, his contagious laugh, his red truck, SONNY plates, and never wearing a shirt.
Rudy was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Esther (Armenta) Gonzales; wife, Dolores Ruybal; child, Bobby Gonzales; siblings, Joe Gonzales, Valentino Gonzales, Eva Montoya, and Jean Salas.
Survived by his children, Deborah Archuleta, Rudy (Peggy) Gonzales, Carl Gonzales; and Mikey Gonzales; daughter-in-law, Nani Gonzales; grandchildren, Mariah, Marisa, Mikeliah, Dominique, Carl Jr., Sonny, Alicia, Alfie, Tommy, Ariah, Allanna, Ava, Adayson, Trinidi, Leticia, and Fantazia; great grandchildren, Kylo, Andrew, Sunshine, Sonny, Don, Celeste, Jasper, Nizhoni, and Zanielah; siblings, Pat Gonzales, Marcy (Cathy) Gonzales, Fern (Gilbert) Fransua; numerous aunts. uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
A visitation for Rudy will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Imperial Funeral Home, 5450 Highway 78 West, Pueblo, Colorado 81005. A memorial service will occur Friday, February 16, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Imperial Funeral Home. Graveside service with military honors will follow.
Rudy will be laid to rest in Imperial Memorial Gardens, 5450 Highway 78 West, Pueblo, Colorado 81005.
