Sam Joseph Mitchell

Sam Joseph Mitchell, 54, born July 19, 1961 in Pueblo, Colorado to Sam J. Mitchell and Frances Elizabeth Burns left us unexpectedly October 6, 2015 in Pueblo to begin his next journey with God. Sam graduated from Pueblo County High School and served in the Marines for four years. He was a decorated Colorado State Patrol Officer who received top honors for many years and later owned Southern Colorado Sweeping for about 7 years. He was an avid fisherman, outdoors man, sports fan and was a talented wood worker. Sam was a hard worker and a wonderful father. He is survived by his children Dominic, Samantha and Amanda Mitchell. Also mother Frances and siblings Liza (Martin) Kapushion and Rebecca (Duane) McHodgkins, as well as numerous relatives and friends. In lieu of food and flowers memorial contributions may be made in Sam’s memory to PAWS. Sam had a love for all animals especially cats. The families request no viewing.
