

Shirley Tomsick, 90, of Pueblo West, Colorado, died December 18, 2015. She was born to the late John and Davida Ross, May 31, 1925, in Sugarite, NM. Shirley and her husband, the late Raymond P Tomsick, lived in Pueblo, where they owned The Park Hill Shoe Shop. Shirley worked and retired as a Psychiatric Nurse at the Colorado State Hospital. They moved to Pueblo West in 1972. Shirley was an active member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, a member of The Daughters of Isabella, on the Board of Directors of SRDA, assisted the Board of Elections for the County and a delegate to the Democratic State Convention. She enjoyed bridge, golfing and loved to travel. Shirley was preceded in death by her brother, John Ross; her sisters, Frances (Ross) Towndrow, Mary (Ross) Moore and Sarah (Ross) Murray. Shirley is survived by her 3 children: Beverly Aschliman (Reuben) of Fort Collins, Marshall Tomsick (Kathryn) of Concord, NC and Roland Tomsick (Carole) of Arvada. She also is survived by 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. The family wishes to acknowledge her very special friend, Rita Welsch, for her care and kindness shown for Shirley over the years. Our family also would like to acknowledge all those who cared for our Mother and made her comfortable and happy, which include all the staff of Sharmar Village Care Facility. Donations can be made to Sharmar Village Care Facility Activities Fund for the residents who she truly loved. Viewing will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2015, followed by Rosary at 11 a.m., and Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m., all to be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Pueblo West.
