

Sidney “Kacki” Brown, 69, passed away peacefully at home, July 30, 2016 after a long and complicated relationship with cancer. Preceded in death by her parents Mary and Nelson Brown; close friend, Merlyn Davies; several aunts and uncles. Kacki is survived by her family, Sharon Cook, Cheri Cook Walker, Carl (Terri) Cook, Stacey, Raymond and Alexus Walker, Kaitlyn and Kelsie Cook; Cousins Gary (Wanda) Evans, LA; Denise (Joe) Vistine, MO; Donna (Alex) DiLeo, CA; and Shirley Pharo, CO; Also, her Girl Scout and Sweet Adeline families and three pups. Kacki graduated with a Master in Science in Education in 1975, a perfect fit for her career in Girl Scouting. She was a lifetime Girl Scout, beginning as a Brownie Girl Scout. She loved the out of doors and served as camp counselor in camps around the United States. She became Program Director for Columbine Council and was in her element whether teaching songs to girls & adults, showing how to build a campfire, or teaching conservation. Kacki was admired in the Girl Scouting community as she was in her other endeavors. Kacki made friends from all over the world thru Girl Scouting. Although active in Girl Scouts, loving to sing, Kacki joined Sweet Adeline’s, an International organization promoting a cappella four part harmony, beginning with Southern Star Chorus in Pueblo 27 years ago and later traveled up the road to Colorado Springs and became a duel member, also singing with the Velvet Hills Show Chorus. With Velvet Hills she was able to compete in International Competitions many times. Kacki worked for Pueblo West Committee of Architecture from 1997-2008 when she retired. Active in the community organizations, over the years in BNI, BWN, UW, and many more. At her death she was owner of MacKactus Typesetting a job she enjoyed immensely. Her creativity and skill brought many businesses, organizations, and individuals satisfaction. She had jobs right to the end. Heaven will have some great brochures!
