Stefe enjoyed going to Cripple Creek, gardening, and cooking her famous green chili and tortillas. She could be found sitting quietly embroidering tea towels, working word searches, or watching The Price is Right when she wasn’t in the kitchen cooking for her family. She never let visitors leave without making a meal for them and giving them a care package for the road.
Stefe was a woman of great faith and prayed the rosary daily. She would always bless you with holy water and say a prayer before you left on your journey back home.
Stefe’s grand- and great-grandchildren brought her much pride and joy. She would always have some goodies in the kitchen for them and would make dozens of biscochitos at Christmas for them and any visitors. She would try to be sneaky and slip some money to the grand- and great-grand kids when they did good in school or to ensure they had gas money and she would give a sneaky smile to the parents with a wink.
Stefe had a big heart and loved every family member as one of her own. She would look forward to visiting with them. It didn’t matter if you were coming from out of town or across town, Stefe would send you home with something delicious from her kitchen. Her tacos and prune pies were always dishes that family would look forward to breaking bread over with her.
Stefe is preceded in death by her parents George and Susie Aragon; her loving husband, Jose “Fila” Sandoval; son Raymond Sandoval; brother Benny Aragon; sisters Beatrice Trujillo, Josie Sandoval, and Lily DeCordova. Stefe is survived by her daughter Loretta Sandoval, son Randy (Melissa) Sandoval, grandchildren Gabby (Nathan Herrera) Sandoval and Izaya Sandoval, and great-grandchildren Nehemiah and Nathicia.
