

Steve Allen Knezevich, age 99, of Pueblo, Colorado passed away on Wednesday, September 24th, 2025. Survived by Daughter Susan (Ed) Tatom; Son, Steve A. (Donna Melton) Knezevich Jr.; Granddaughters, Kara (Kevin Miller) Knezevich; and Amy (David) Perez; Great-grandchildren Kendall and Keely Miller; and Daxton, Violet and Beckett Perez; Also survived by his brother Robert's daughter, Vickie (Knezevich) Stock, and numerous nieces and nephews of his wife's family. Predeceased in 2024 by his wife of 75 years Elsie (Ziolkowski) Knezevich; his parents Dan and Sophie (Chanak) Knezevich; and his siblings Mildred (Divanovich), Marcia (Fowler) and Robert.
Steve was born on April 17th, 1926. He began his career at CF&I Steel (after the 8th grade) where he was employed for 45 years, most of them as a crane operator, interrupted only by 2 years of Naval service in the South Pacific until the end of World War 2. He also farmed his parents' land until they died. Both before and during his 38 years of retirement, he and his wife travelled extensively in the U.S and overseas. An avid fitness fanatic, he cycled into his 70's, then walked 3-5 miles each day well into his 90's. He also exercised his mind by reading every day and was wise and knowledgeable far beyond his formal education.
He loved his children and grandchildren and spent many hours watching them at sporting events, family gatherings and other events. A huge part of our lives, he will be sorely missed.
A private service will be held graveside at a later date where he will be interred next to his beloved wife. (Roselawn Cemetery)
