Born in Ellensburg, Washington, he was the son of Donna and Steven Mohan, Sr. He graduated from Northwestern University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and the University of Phoenix with an M.B.A. Steve served as an officer in the United States Navy in San Diego for 4 years and after he was discharged from the Navy, he and Jo Anne moved to Pueblo, where he worked at Trane. For the last 13 years, he was a fiction writer, having published several novels, many short stories, and contributor to numerous anthologies.
He enjoyed writing, reading, and spending time with his family, especially when it involved a discussion of current events, or a game of UNO.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Bryce. He is survived by his wife, Jo Anne, his sons, Steven III (Alan) and Andrew, daughter, Katie, grand-daughter Violet, sister Elissa, and her children, Ben and Emma. Memorial services are not being held at this time. The family would ask that memorial donations may be made to a scholarship fund for his grand-daughter, Violet Galindo, through Navy Federal Credit Union.
